OUR STORY

ForgePoint was created through the initial acquisition of American Overhead Door & Dock, LLC (“American” or “AODD”). Today, American operates from three locations and is focused on the sale, installation, and maintenance of commercial and industrial overhead door, loading dock, and access control / perimeter security solutions.

The door and dock industry, traditionally fragmented, has been led by independent, owner or operator-led businesses serving their local markets with dedication. However, as global logistics networks expand, there is a growing imperative for broader reach and enhanced capabilities. This shift requires many owner-run businesses to navigate a critical pivot point in their growth journey.

At ForgePoint, we believe that door and dock companies thrive when experienced, passionate owners and operators are able to fully focus on what they do best – serving customers. We believe unlocking their full potential happens when local leaders are met with flexible support rather than rigid playbooks. And, with the right partnership, the future of this industry can continue to be rooted in community, committed to people, and bold in ambition.

Achieving transformational outcomes requires unmatched expertise, solid relationships, and people empowered to do what it takes to deliver. Because we know that when capable teams have the right support, they don’t just meet the moment, they move it forward.

ForgePoint turns shared ambition into coordinated action — galvanizing growth that’s built to endure.

“This business is more than just a company; it’s part of our family’s story.  Our father, started the company with him and a truck and a vision to pass the company on for generations to come.  As a family, we saw the industry consolidation and knew in order to compete and grow at the magnitude we wanted, we had to find a partner with principles and goals that aligned with ours.

We knew after meeting the Guardian and ForgePoint teams, they were the group we wanted to partner with to grow our brand to a national level.  Guardian quickly earned our trust and has stood by everything they said they would. They understood what we built and respected our people and how we operate. Their support has been invaluable, giving us the resources and guidance to grow while keeping what makes us us.”

OUR STRATEGY:

When we partner, we keep the people and management teams in place, equipping them with the tools, resources, and processes they need to strengthen their service to customers, employees, and communities.
